Accordingly, on the 99 mountain range located in the southwest towards Huong Pagoda, there are 7 mountains near Tam Chuc village. Ancient legends say that all 7 of these mountains had a large light spot appearing like stars shining at night. The light radiates a brilliant halo. The villagers call it “That Tinh” mountain and the pagoda is also called That Tinh Pagoda. Then someone came to the chiseled That Tinh mountain, hoping to take away those 7 special stars. They piled firewood into a large pile and burned for many days, causing the four stars to fade away, eventually leaving only three stars. Therefore, That Tinh Pagoda was later changed to Ba Sao Pagoda and Ba Sao town (Kim Bang district – Ha Nam) was also based on this story.
Tourists will move to Tam Chuc Tour boat station – Ninh Binh, board a cruise ship to cruise on Tam Chuc Lake. Tam Chuc Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in Vietnam, surrounded by limestone mountains.
